People

A large number of people are loosely associated with the Foundation as volunteers, project assistants, mentors, and activity coordinators. Leadership and organization of the Foundation is principally handled by the following individuals:

Howard Hobbs – President and Member of the Board of Directors

As a co-founder of the Foundation, Howard’s understanding of traditional values is invaluable to overall direction setting. As a resident of Hawaii in the Waipio Valley conservation district for over 35 years he has experienced a wide variety of conservation failures and successes, and knows firsthand what works… and what doesn’t. With a family history in commercial farming and philanthropy, Howard’s formal education in the visual arts is supplemented by a diverse humanitarian background in finance, farming, and cultural experience. He specializes in exotic and rare flora and maintains a unique collection of tropical fruit trees.

As one’s mental attitude greatly effects how a person interacts with their environment, Howard believes ecological moderation is best effectuated through positive emotional experiences and favorable sensory perceptions of their environment.

Isis Morrison – Volunteer coordinator – Endemic plant, Sandalwood and Aviary Specialist

As a co-founder of the Global Ecology Foundation, Isis’s experience in organic, natural and biodynamic farming guides the Foundation in its overall purpose. She envisions the Foundation creating and synergizing global alliances to foster healthy ecological practices through efforts in reforestation, natural habitat restoration, agroecology, and water and soil remediation. Creator of unique educational events to accommodate all learning styles, Isis leads the instructional activities of the Foundation.

While involved in biodynamic agriculture in France, Isis studied the influence of solar and planetary variations on plants and farm animals, which she actively applies together with her numerous nature based disciplines, to all living organism. With a formal education in classical liberal arts, Isis’s focus is on the spiritual aspects of mankind’s relationship with the earth. She sees global implications in the smallest interaction one has with their environment and feels the best way to modify mankind’s ecological culture is through education and development of one’s driving inner spirit.
